Court Upholds FourYear Sentence for Former Infrastructure PS Mushota

By Hannock Kasama Former Ministry of Infrastructure Permanent Secretary CHARLES MUSHOTA has lost the contest against his four year sentence for willful failure to comply with the law and procedure. Mr. MUSHOTA’s earlier conviction in March 2025 stemmed from willful failure to comply with the law and procedure in the procurement of the Ministry of Infrastructure’s building. The Economic and Financial Crimes Court of the High Court Division has dismissed Mr. MUSHOTA’s appeal on grounds that it lacks merit. The verdict has been delivered by Constitutional Court Judge VINCENT SILOKA sitting as Economic and Financial Crimes Court Judge. Judge SILOKA was accompanied by Constitutional Court Judge PIXXIE YANGAILO and Economic and Financial Crimes Court Judge IAN MABBOLOBBOLO.
