Zimbabwe U17 Boys discover opponents in AFCON U17 Qualifiers

Zimbabwe’s Under-17 national team have been drawn alongside Zambia and Eswatini in Group C of the 2027 TotalEnergies CAF Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations COSAFA Qualifiers.

The tournament will be staged in Maputo, Mozambique, from 4 to 13 December 2026 as part of the Region 5 Games.

Nine teams will compete in three groups of three, with the sides battling for regional honours and places at next year’s continental finals in Morocco.

Defending champions South Africa headline Group B, where they will face Botswana and Malawi, while hosts Mozambique have been drawn in Group A alongside Angola and Lesotho.

Zimbabwe will be looking to improve on their performance at the previous edition, held on home soil in September 2025, where they failed to progress beyond the group stage.

The Young Warriors face a challenging assignment against Zambia, who will be eager to reclaim the title they last won in 2024, and Eswatini, who complete the group.

Top three teams from the COSAFA qualifiers will secure a place at the continental U17 AFCON finals, which will be held in Morocco next year.

Meanwhile, in the Girls U17 COSAFA Championship, Zimbabwe have been drawn alongside hosts Mozambique and Angola in Group A.
