Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has made a shocking statement about his political leadership in Rivers State.
Speaking at the unveiling of the Rainbow Coalition’s candidates in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, Fubara said those that called him leader during the crises between him and the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, should stop henceforth.
This was as he declared Wike as the only leader in the state.
“Those that called me my leader during the crises, please stop calling me my leader, we have a common leader now which is His Excellency Chief Nyesom Wike,” Fubara said.
Recall that the crises in the state led to the declaration of state of emergency by President Bola Tinubu in March 2025 and lasted till September 2025.

The Presidency on Tuesday called on the organised private sector to help fund and implement the proposed state police system, even as 24 State Houses of Assembly have approved the constitutional amendment needed to establish state police.
Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, who is also Chairman of the Presidential Working Group on the National Policing Bill, made the disclosure on Monday while speaking on a panel on “Security, Stability and Economic Resilience” at the 32nd Nigerian Economic Summit, held at the Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
He said the Presidential Working Group had submitted the draft National Policing Bill alongside 29 consequential amendment bills to the Federal Ministry of Justice on October 19, and that the proposals would be forwarded to President Bola Tinubu for approval and then transmitted to the National Assembly after further review.

The Federal Government on Tuesday rolled out a free digital training platform to remove barriers that have kept local entrepreneurs out of government contracting.
It said the move is to open Nigeria’s multi-billion-naira public procurement space to millions of small businesses.
The platform, unveiled on Tuesday in Abuja by the Bureau of Public Procurement, working with the World Bank, is targeted at roughly 39.6 million nano, micro, small and medium enterprises, to arm them with tools needed to bid for and win public contracts.
Speaking at the unveiling, the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Senator John Enoh, called for a departure from an approach centred only on enforcing compliance, toward one that actually makes room for small operators within the system.
The Ogun State Government has urged private schools across the state to embrace digital education and go beyond the provision of computers in establishing Computer-Based Test, CBT, centres.
The government stressed the need for reliable infrastructure, qualified personnel, regular maintenance and adequate security to promote credible assessment and effective learning.
The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, gave the charge on Tuesday at the official launching and commissioning of a 300-capacity CBT Centre at Christ Nation School, Moloko Asipa, along Iyana-Obafe road, Ogun State.
