Tourism to add 66,100 supported jobs by 2036, forecast shows
Zimbabwe’s tourism industry is forecast to support about 66,100 additional jobs over the next decade, expanding its economic footprint while remaining a relatively small contributor to national employment, according to research by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC). The council’s Economic Impact Research 2026 estimates that travel and tourism supported 167,510 jobs in 2025, equivalent to 2,8% of total employment. By 2036, that figure is projected to reach 245,009, or 3,4% of the workforce.
