HARARE, Aug. 27 (NewsDay Live) — President Emmerson Mnangagwa has instructed the Zanu PF Politburo to move beyond theoretical declarations and ensure that party resolutions produce measurable outcomes for citizens as preparations intensify for the ruling party’s 23rd National People’s Conference in Mashonaland West province.
Addressing the 396th Ordinary Session of the Politburo in Harare yesterday, Mnangagwa said resolutions adopted at previous party conferences and congresses must be critically evaluated before delegates meet in Chinhoyi.
“The implementation of resolutions from previous conferences and congresses should be critically evaluated. Party resolutions and decisions should not be mere declarations but translated into practical programmes and measurable outcomes,” Mnangagwa told the party leadership.
“Hence, this forthcoming conference provides yet another platform for us to refocus and re-anchor our administrative machinery to move from resolutions to results.”
He urged party departments and provincial structures to maintain discipline and ensure that all mobilisation strategies were aligned with national development targets.
“Through the Politburo and all party departments, programmes must continue to be people-centred, developmental, practical and impactful, bolstering the mobilisation capacity of the party as well as the quality of life of our citizens,” Mnangagwa said.
“Greater unity, hard work, resolve, discipline and fortitude must continue to be the party’s modus operandi.”
The President commended the successful inter-district and Provincial Coordinating Committee meetings held across the country, urging the party to maintain focus as its structures align themselves with the government’s economic objectives under Vision 2030.
The Chinhoyi conference is expected to provide a platform for the party to assess progress on previous resolutions, strengthen its administrative machinery and set priorities for the next phase of its political and developmental programme.
