Walvis Bay residents urged to pay municipal bills
WALVIS BAY – Walvis Bay residents are being urged to continue paying their municipal accounts as well as honour their existing payment arrangements.
The notice was issued this week by the Municipality of Walvis Bay, which reminded residents experiencing financial difficulties to contact its Credit Control Section for assistance. Residents whose accounts are 30 days or less in arrears are encouraged to approach the municipality as soon as possible to discuss payment arrangements.
The municipality said payment arrangements should be made before an account reaches the applicable 30-day ageing period.
Accounts that have already been handed over for collection can be arranged directly with the collecting agency, it said.
The municipality further warned that once services have been discontinued, a down payment will be required before services can be reconnected, followed by an Acknowledgement of Debt for the remaining balance.
The municipality thanked residents who continue to meet their payment obligations and honour existing arrangements.
Meanwhile, council on Wednesday terminated their debt collecting contract with RedForce with immediate effect.
