Venoms eye third straight win against resurgent Maroons

Sunday October 11, 2026

• Mbarara City vs Blacks Power – Rwamwanja stadium, Kamwenge 4pm
• Vipers vs Maroons – St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende 8pm

Vipers return to action in the premier league with a home duel against stubborn Maroons under floodlights at St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende on Sunday.

The reigning champions are on a strong upward trajectory, winning their last two matches comfortably (3-0 against Ntugasaze and 4-0 against Blacks Power) after a false start in which they lost 1-0 to Entebbe UPPC.

Both teams are tied on 6 points in the middle of the table. Vipers sit in 9th place, just one spot ahead of 10th-placed Maroons on goal difference.

Venoms’forward Gusto Mulongo is the man to watch after netting a brace in their previous outing but Maroons will not be a walk in the pack.

The Prison Warders are also carrying winning momentum into Kitende, having decisively beaten Lugazi 3-0 in their last fixture.
