Jigawa govt denies giving houses to Kannywood actors
By Muhammad Inuwa, Dutse
Jigawa State Government has dismissed allegations that it allocated houses in the Danmodi Housing Estate in Ringim to popular APC musician Dauda Kahutu Rarara and members of the Triple R group.
Dady Ringim, a new media aide to Governor Umar Namadi, described the allegation as false and lacking factual basis while reacting to the controversy on social media.
The controversy followed a viral video in which Rarara and members of Triple R allegedly claimed that the governor had allocated houses to them”.
The video has triggered reactions from opposition figures and other social media users in the state.
Among those who criticised the alleged allocation was Zakari Kafin Hausa, a former aide to Governor Namadi and a prominent critic of his administration and ADC Candidate for Auyo/Kafin Hausa House of Representatives in the 2027 election.
In his Facebook post, Kafin Hausa questioned the reported allocation of the houses, particularly as the housing project was allegedly financed with public funds.
“There are certain decisions taken by this administration that I am wondering whether it is the Umar Namadi we have always known making them or he has been replaced with ‘Jibrin from Sudan.’”
He also questioned why public housing projects should be allocated in such a manner.
However, reacting to the criticism, Ringim accused Kafin Hausa of overlooking the governor’s achievements, arguing that Namadi’s projects and policies were strengthening his popularity and re-election prospects.
According to him, “The Triple R statement does not mean the Governor has gift them Houses, they are trying to establish the fact that the Governor has constructed the affordable Housing Estate for the People of the state.
“The Danmodi Housing Estate was constructed across the whole 27 Local Government of the state and are available for the citizens whoever meet the requirements” he said.
“What they are doing are doing it to advertise the good work of Governor Umar Namadi, not only Housing Estate including Tsangaya, Roads, Health, Agriculture among other.”
He said the governor’s achievements were making a lasting impression on the people, adding that “politics is not built on rhetoric alone; it requires action and the trust of the people.”
Ringim expressed confidence that voters would determine the state’s political future, insisting that the administration’s performance was helping to build a lasting legacy, particularly among young people.
He urged political actors to verify information before making public allegations, warning that political differences should not be allowed to encourage the spread of misinformation.
The controversy has generated debate on social media over the alleged allocation of the houses and the management of publicly funded housing projects in Jigawa State.
