‘Unity Well’ commissioned at Atasemanso Zongo

A mechanized Borehole donated by SOTA International, an American NGO has been commissioned at Atasemanso Zongo to provide sustainable water for the residents.

Christened “Unity Well”, the GH¢48,000 facility passes as a monument of unity having brought Muslims, Christians, traditional leaders and political actors together at its commissioning.

The borehole, sponsored by Abdul Sahmed, at the request by the assembly man, is expected to provide clean water to improve the lives of children and families and the 11,000 members of the community.

Dr. Kelli Ducloux, Philanthropist, founder and CEO of the SOTA International said she was duty bound to provide 50 water wells (boreholes) in Africa in fulfilment of a vision in February 2024.

She believed water is life and the very embodiment of life and therefore essential for livelihood hence her commitment to provide access to clean water.

Madam Sutherland Adwoa Dawn, Executive Director of Bridge-To-Africa Connection (BTAC), who facilitated the project said she was committed to serving children to have better lives and impact them positively in society.

She called for proper maintenance of the borehole which situation could qualify the community to benefit from a public place of convenience by the donors.

Madam Adwoa Dawn assured that she will continue to serve and contribute to the development of Atasemanso community.

Nana Ofori Nyarko, Gyasehene of Atasemanso who led a delegation of the Atasemanso chief, Nana Owusu Panyin thanked Dr. Kelli and friends for funding the project.

The Head of Atasemanso Zongo Community, Abdul Mumin Abdallah expressed appreciation for the wonderful gift to the community and assured of proper maintance.

In attendance at the commissioning ceremony were Imam Abubakar Sadique; Zanze Abdul Karim, Head of Busanga Community; Ahmed, the Head of Dargarti community and a section of the members of the community.
