DODOMA: THE Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board (PSPTB) has revoked registration of 47 procurement and supplies professionals, barring them from legally practising after their names were removed from the official register over unpaid annual registration fees.
The board has also given other professionals with outstanding fees 30 days to settle their dues or face deregistration.
Speaking to journalists in Dodoma yesterday, PSPTB Executive Director, Mr Godfred Mbanyi said professionals who failed to clear their outstanding fees within the deadline would have their registration cancelled and their names removed from the official register.
“Failure to comply with this directive will result in immediate cancellation of your registration and your names will be officially published on the PSPTB website and in the Government Gazette,” Mr Mbanyi said.
He said further legal action, including prosecution where applicable under the law establishing the board, could also be taken against defaulters.
Mr Mbanyi said every registered procurement and supplies professional was legally required to pay an annual registration fee in accordance with PSPTB regulations, including Government Notice No. 364 of 2009.
He said the PSPTB Act gives the board exclusive powers to register qualified professionals and authorise them to practise in the procurement and supplies profession.

“No person who is not officially registered under this law has the legal authority to participate in or perform procurement and supplies functions,” he said.
Mr Mbanyi warned that anyone who continued to practise, present themselves as a procurement and supplies professional or perform procurement functions after losing registration would be committing a criminal offence and could face legal and disciplinary action.
The PSPTB, which operates under the Ministry of Finance, regulates professional standards, conduct and ethics in the procurement and supplies profession across the country.
