Nicole Kidman has featured in a new Vogue Australia cover shoot, modelling a Chanel bikini and other outfits for the magazine’s November 2026 issue.
The 59-year-old actress showed off her toned midriff in a Chanel bikini top paired with low-rise denim jeans and a statement gold necklace. She completed the look with tousled, wet hair.
In another photograph, Kidman wore a monochromatic strapless dress with a matching Chanel beanie, posing directly towards the camera.
Photographer Lachlan Bailey captured the editorial in New York, with styling by Vogue Australia editor-in-chief Christine Centenera.
Actress Reflects on Being Told She Was Too Tall
In the accompanying interview, Kidman discussed how her height was once considered an obstacle to her ambitions in ballet and acting.
Filmmaker Baz Luhrmann asked whether she had overcome something that had initially made her feel different from others.
Kidman recalled being the tallest pupil in her class and taller than the boys. She said her height prevented her from pursuing ballet as she had hoped.
She also remembered being told that she was too tall to work as an actress because she was taller than the leading man.
However, Kidman said that changed when she was cast in a leading role and those around her had to adjust to her height.
She described the experience as significant after years of being told that her height would hold her back, adding that it helped give her determination.
Naomi Watts Asks Kidman About Breaking the Rules
Kidman’s longtime friend Naomi Watts also took part in the interview, asking the actress which rule she had broken in the past.
Kidman declined to provide a specific example, responding that Watts already knew the answer.
She described herself as a rule-breaker and joked that it took one to recognise another.
Kidman Reveals Her Dream of Appearing in a McDonald’s Advert
Actor Margot Robbie asked Kidman about her favourite Australian television advertisement from the past.
Kidman revealed that she had always wanted to appear in a McDonald’s commercial while growing up.
She recalled that the fast-food chain had been particularly appealing to her and said she wanted to eat Quarter Pounders repeatedly on camera.
Despite that ambition, she said she had never been cast in a McDonald’s advertisement.
Actress Discusses Balancing Motherhood and Her Career
Actor Zoe Saldaña asked Kidman how she had managed to pursue a demanding acting career while raising her family, questioning whether it was possible to give equal attention to both roles.
Kidman said she did not believe perfection was achievable in any area of life. Instead, she explained that she tries to do her best and give each responsibility her full effort.
She also spoke about the importance of making her daughters feel that they come first when they need her.
Kidman said her daughters could contact the set while she was working and that she would be available if they needed her.
She described ensuring that children know they are a priority as an important expression of love.
Kidman’s Personal Life and Chanel Partnership
Kidman, who is 5ft 11in tall, was previously married to actor Tom Cruise for 11 years. Cruise is reported to be 5ft 7¾in tall.
She later married country musician Keith Urban in 2006. Their divorce was finalised in January, according to the supplied report.
The actress returned as a global ambassador for Chanel last year. Her latest editorial comes as the fashion house brings its Resort 2027 collection to Australia for the first time.
