Primate Ayodele Warns Tinubu of Betrayal by APC Governors, Cabinet Members

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has cautioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu against possible betrayal from within his party, warning that some All Progressives Congress (APC) governors and cabinet members may secretly align with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele alleged that Atiku is working closely with U.S. politicians and could gain covert support from APC insiders.
“Tinubu shouldn’t be surprised that some governors he believes will work with him will secretly support Atiku. Some members of his cabinet will also work with Atiku,” he said.
Ayodele further raised concerns about the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), claiming the body is unprepared to conduct a credible election.
He predicted violence, fake ballot papers, rigging, and inconclusive results in some states if the election proceeds on the scheduled date.
The cleric also urged Tinubu to urgently address Nigeria’s worsening economic situation, warning that inflation would rise significantly and public dissatisfaction would deepen.
“Tinubu cannot do this alone; his ministers ought to do something about it,” he added.
Ayodele’s warning comes amid growing political tension as parties prepare for the 2027 polls, with opposition figures intensifying efforts to challenge the ruling APC.
