Aiyedatiwa Approves ₦500m Housing, Vehicle Loans for Ondo Workers

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has approved enhanced welfare packages for public servants, including upward reviews of housing and car loan ceilings, an increase in Duty Tour Allowance (DTA), and an additional ₦500 million seed fund for the state’s car and housing loan schemes.
The Head of Service, Chief Segun Odusanya, announced the approvals in his office. He said the governor’s decision was driven by the need to align the schemes with current economic realities.
The existing loan ceilings, last reviewed in 2013, had lost significant purchasing power due to high inflation, rising construction costs, and higher vehicle prices.
Odusanya noted that while the schemes had provided relief to beneficiaries over the years, they were no longer adequate.
The new measures aim to restore their effectiveness and make them more beneficial to workers.
The DTA payable to officers on official assignments within the state, outside the state, and outside the country has also been reviewed upward.
The Head of Service expressed appreciation to Governor Aiyedatiwa for prioritising workers’ welfare, saying the approvals would boost the morale of the workforce and strengthen their commitment to the administration’s development agenda.
