Checkout EPL Table After Today’s Matches

According to a report by BBC Sport on Monday October 12, 2026, the sixth round of English Premier League fixtures has come to an end, with Manchester City continuing their impressive start to the season, while Coventry City recorded a convincing victory over Newcastle United.

The final Premier League encounter of the matchweek took place on Monday, with Coventry City securing an impressive 4-1 victory against Newcastle United.

Frank Lampard’s side delivered an outstanding performance to collect three valuable points, moving further away from the bottom of the standings.

Jack Rudoni gave Coventry the advantage from the penalty spot before Sidiki Cherif extended their lead.

Newcastle attempted to fight back through Sven Botman, but Coventry responded strongly, with Ellis Simms and Stephen Mfuni adding further goals to complete an emphatic victory.

Following the latest results, Manchester City continue to lead the Premier League standings with 18 points from six matches.

The defending title contenders have won all their opening six league fixtures, establishing a three-point lead over Arsenal.

Arsenal remain second with 15 points, having recorded five victories and one defeat during their opening six encounters.

Brighton occupy third position with 13 points, while Brentford sit fourth with 10 points.

Everton are fifth with 10 points, followed closely by Chelsea in sixth position with the same number of points.

Leeds United occupy seventh place with nine points, while Hull City, Liverpool and Ipswich Town complete the top ten, with each side also collecting nine points.

Newcastle United remain 11th with eight points despite their disappointing defeat against Coventry City.

Crystal Palace are 12th with seven points, while Manchester United occupy 13th position with six points.

Michael Carrick’s Manchester United side were held to a 1-1 draw by Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, leaving them considerably behind the early title contenders.

Coventry City’s latest victory has moved them into 14th position with six points, ahead of Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa.

Sunderland occupy 17th position with four points, while Bournemouth, Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham remain in the relegation places.

Meanwhile, Manchester City’s remarkable performances have strengthened their position as early favourites for the Premier League title.

Their impressive 3-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday ensured they maintained their perfect start to the campaign.

Chelsea also enjoyed a successful weekend after recording a convincing 5-1 victory against Bournemouth, keeping themselves close to the teams occupying the Champions League qualification positions.

However, Manchester United’s inconsistent performances remain a concern, with the Red Devils managing just six points from their opening six league matches.

With the sixth round of fixtures now completed, attention will shift towards the upcoming Premier League encounters.

Manchester City will be determined to maintain their winning momentum, while Arsenal and Brighton will hope to keep the pressure on the league leaders.

Meanwhile, teams occupying the lower half of the standings will be looking to secure important victories as the battle to avoid relegation gradually intensifies.
