Seven policemen, who were part of a patrol team and allegedly demanded money from their victim and compelled him to go to an ATM (automated teller machine) to withdraw money for them, have been named and interdicted by the Police Administration.

The Police Administration has not named the victim, but Graphic Online’s sources have hinted that the victim was a diplomat.

Graphic Online understands that the policemen, led by an Inspector who were on patrol duties accosted the diplomat victim in the Cantonments area of Accra.

In a statement issued Wednesday evening (September 16, 2026), the police administration named the personnel, including one female as Inspector Courage Boateng, Sergeant Stephen Addo, Corporal Moses Anyravi, Corporal Prosper Adiabo, Lance Corporal Samuel Anokye, Constable Henrietta Coleman and Constable Bernard Amoako.

The police press statement signed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Richmond Mensah explained that the interdiction was to make way for ongoing investigation by the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB).

It said the matter will be thoroughly investigated and appropriate action taken based on the outcome of the investigations.
