2027: Presidency Mocks Obi, Kwankwaso Over Differing Fuel Subsidy Positions

The Presidency has mocked the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi and his running mate, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, over their differing views on fuel subsidy.
The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communications, Daniel Bwala, in a post on his verified X handle on Tuesday said Obi and Kwankwaso are confused.
Recall that Kwankwaso had said the NDC would reintroduce fuel subsidy in a different form if it wins the January 2027 presidential election.
Meanwhile Obi had also said that the subsidy should be removed, saying that the mismanagement of the funds should not deter them from removing it.
Reacting, Bwala said, “Both have different views about fuel subsidy. Their confusion is confusing me. Peter Obi used to be the master of populist rhetoric, Atiku has taken that oxygen from him.
“All of them are more interested in rhetorics than the realities of our country and the need to take the bull by the horn.
“President Bola Tinubu has maintained focus on the issues our people care about and he is addressing them all.
“When Atiku and Amaechi said they would subsidize production, President Tinubu is already doing that in the agriculture, oil and gas, manufacturing, digital economy etc. Follow who know road.”
