President Tinubu’s Return Shifted To Tuesday

President Bola Tinubu is now expected to return to Nigeria on Tuesday, following a fresh adjustment to his travel itinerary, LEADERSHIP gathered.

The President was expected back in the country this weekend after extending his stay in Europe, where he has been on a working vacation.

His revised itinerary is expected to see him return through Lagos, where he may spend up to a week before travelling to Abuja.

Tinubu departed Nigeria on 30 August for London, United Kingdom, to begin a three-week working vacation as part of his annual leave.

He later proceeded to Paris, France, after spending about a week in London.

During his stay in Paris, the President met with French President Emmanuel Macron and businessman Vincent Bolloré.

The Presidency had on 21 September announced that Tinubu would extend his stay abroad by a few days, saying he was expected to return to Nigeria over the weekend.

However, the President’s return has now been moved to Tuesday.

The Presidency had also said Tinubu remained in contact with government officials in Nigeria and continued to direct the affairs of government while away.

Meanwhile, Vice President Kashim Shettima departed New York on Sunday evening for Abuja after representing President Tinubu at the 81st United Nations General Assembly. He is expected to arrive in Nigeria on Monday morning.
