A 46-year-old woman in Eswatini has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for raping a 15-year-old boy.
Nontokozo Sakhile Dludlu was convicted under the country’s Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Act after a trial at the Manzini Magistrates Court.
The court heard that Dludlu, who was a neighbour of the boy, sexually assaulted him at Luve.
The teenager told the court that he did not resist because he was afraid of the woman.
The prosecution called the boy and other witnesses, including his friend, elder brother and the investigating officer.
Dludlu had denied the charge during the trial.
She later expressed remorse and apologised to the teenager during mitigation, asking for his forgiveness.
Principal Magistrate Florence Msibi sentenced her to 15 years in prison without the option of a fine.
The court said the sentence reflected the seriousness of sexual offences involving minors.
