Ghana’s Black Starlets begin Morocco friendly preparations in Rabat

Ghanas Black Starlets have begun preparations for their first international friendly against Moroccos U17 side with a training session in Rabat.

Coach Kassim Mingle and his technical team led the 1-hour 30-minute session on Friday afternoon at the A.S.S Stadium in Sale, a suburb of the Moroccan capital.

The workout was the teams first since arriving in Morocco and was designed to help the players settle into their new surroundings before Saturdays match.

The technical team also used the session to assess the players physical condition and begin work on the tactical approach for the opening fixture.

The Black Starlets will meet Moroccos U17 side on Saturday evening in the first of two friendly matches scheduled during their stay in the North African country.

The games will give Ghana the opportunity to test the squad against strong opposition and evaluate its readiness for the WAFU Zone B U17 Championship.

That tournament will also serve as the qualifying competition for the 2027 U17 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana are scheduled to play a second friendly against Morocco before ending their tour and returning home on 1 October 2026.
