2026 World Cup: Tribe Culture Fest CEO denies claims of illegally receiving $611,000

Chief Executive Officer of Tribe Culture Fest, Nana Boateng Gyimah, has denied allegations that he or the festival illegally received US$611,000 and failed to refund the money.

In a statement issued on Monday, October 12, 2026, Mr Gyimah described the allegations attributed to the Minister for Sports, Kofi Adams, as unfounded.

He maintained that Tribe Culture’s agreement was solely with the National Sports Authority (NSA) and the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA).

According to him, neither he nor Tribe Culture Fest received the alleged US$611,000 from any private individual in connection with the arrangements in question.

Mr Gyimah has challenged the Sports Minister to provide evidence to support the allegations, including any agreement, authorisation or consent involving him or Tribe Culture Fest that establishes the alleged financial arrangement.

He has also demanded verifiable payment records detailing who paid the money, who received it, when the payment was made and how the Minister arrived at the US$611,000 figure.

“My reputation and the integrity of Tribe Culture must not be undermined by unsubstantiated public accusations,” he said.

Mr Gyimah called on the Minister to substantiate the allegations or withdraw them and correct the public record.

He warned that failure to do so would compel him to refer the matter to his lawyers.
