Man Utd fans have decided best manager to replace Carrick, want to ‘move heaven and earth’ for him

**It’s not a discussion anyone expected to have after just four league games, but Man Utd fans have identified the best Michael Carrick replacement. **

All the vibes from last season are now completely soured after Brighton put three past Man Utd at Old Trafford to dump them out of the Carabao Cup. Collapsing in that manner after leading 2-0 early on, this was truly the kind of performance that gets managers sacked.

Carrick said after the game that he’s not under pressure, but the international break after the Fulham game could be curtains for him if he loses that one.

Man Utd fans seem to have the ideal replacement in mind who has everything this club needs.

There is a certain fatigue that has set in among the fans when it comes to seeking the next manager, because they know the problems run much deeper.

From a serial winner in Jose Mourinho to a project manager in Ruben Amorim, from a taskmaster like Louis van Gaal to a smiling ex-player in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, every template has been tried and tested.

None have delivered, and Carrick looks to be in the same position, but Cesc Fabregas seems to be ticking all of those boxes above in a single entity.

He has turned Como into serial winners in the league, while being a project manager as he took over an underdog. He is a taskmaster in his demands as he’s extremely tactical, but has the man-management skills of an ex-player who the players would respect.

After United’s loss to Brighton, the fans want the club to move heaven and earth to get him, because he won’t be easy to extract from a Como project he partly owns.

“The move United should make is going for Cesc Fabregas. The move they will make is go for Eddie Howe,” said one exasperated fan, tired of the owners’ decision-making.

“Cesc Fabregas. We should be moving heaven and earth to appoint him. Proper coach who plays exactly the brand of football all top teams do today,” said another.

“Trusts youngsters, has a clear philosophy, commands respect from his playing days, and worked miracles at Como. Throw the bag at Fabregas and BRING,” said a third.

However, some fans argued that United are beyond saving, writing, “A new manager will make no difference. The owners are clueless. He will kill his career if he comes here,” as another said, “It will be the same with any new manager until Ineos and the Glazers walk.”

“He wouldn’t come until he was seriously backed in the transfer window, and we’ve seen how Carrick’s just been treated by these owners,” argued another, having sympathy for Carrick’s predicament.

“Fabregas is quite literally perfect in every aspect. Elite coach, we need to be all over him. He’s absolutely top and won’t be available for much longer if we don’t go for him,” said another.

Ultimately, there is some fatigue that one person cannot solve this mess, certainly not the manager, but it’s already hard to shake off the belief that Carrick is not getting the best out of this squad as it stands.
