Man Arrested For Fatally Stabbing Friend During Football Match in Chikwawa

A 33-year-old man, Jasi Golomera, is in police custody in Chikwawa on suspicion of fatally stabbing a fellow resident following a dispute during a football match.

Golomera is alleged to have stabbed Wilson Khilitchi in the abdomen last Sunday at Nyankamba Ground during a match between two local teams.

According to reports, tensions arose as the match progressed and the team supported by Golomera began to fall behind. Khilitchi allegedly taunted Golomera over his team’s performance, prompting an argument between the two men.

Golomera is then said to have drawn a knife and stabbed Khilitchi before fleeing the scene.

Police later arrested Golomera, who remains in custody as investigations into the incident continue.
