Free Fire India Is Live, but Under-18s Get Just 3 Hours a Day

Garena’s Free Fire India is now available to download, bringing the battle royale game back as a standalone app for Indian players. The game launched on October 28, 2026, with a Diwali campaign, parental controls, and new restrictions on how long players can spend in-game.

There is one important detail to know before you start playing: adults can play for up to six hours a day, while players under 18 are limited to three hours. Garena also requires parental consent for under-18 users and has introduced spending caps for younger players.

Here’s how to download Free Fire India, what time it launched, and how the new rules work.

What are Free Fire India's new playtime limits?

Garena has introduced daily playtime restrictions as part of its responsible-gaming measures. Its official policy confirms the following limits:

• Adults aged 18 and above: Up to six hours of gameplay per day.
• Players under 18: Up to three hours of gameplay per day.

These are daily caps, not suggested session lengths. Players can stop whenever they want, and Garena also provides regular reminders encouraging them to take breaks.

The rules are particularly important for younger players, who face a shorter daily allowance alongside parental consent and spending requirements.

What happens when you reach the playtime limit?

Once you reach your applicable daily allowance, Free Fire India will prevent you from continuing to play until the time window resets. Garena's policy confirms that restriction, although players should consult the game's current settings or official support guidance for details about the reset schedule.

The game also sends regular break reminders. These are separate from the daily cap, so players should not treat a reminder as meaning they have used all their available playtime.

Does Free Fire India require parental consent?

Yes. Garena requires players who are under 18 to obtain consent from a parent or guardian before creating an account. They must also provide the parent's or guardian's mobile number for OTP verification.

The company has introduced spending caps for users under 18 to help prevent excessive in-game purchases. The game includes paid transactions, including purchases of diamonds that can be used to obtain characters and other items, so the spending restrictions are worth understanding before a younger player starts playing.
