Emran Hashmi returns in this action sequel directed by Nitin Kakkar as the tormented, reformed thug who decides to give up that life until an incident forces him to reconsider his decision.
Hashmi plays Shivam Pandit, who is roped in by Indian Interpol officer Samarth Singh (Atul Kumar) to infiltrate a gang in Bangkok, which is heavily involved in drug smuggling and human trafficking of young Indian girls.
Shivam relents and ends up becoming a kingpin in a gang led by the cruel and callous young Zorawar (Puran Gabbi), in an eccentric role that is often over-the-top.
Zorawar has a brother who is autistic and a sister, Zara (Disha Patani), who wants to escape the criminal life their father has raised them in to concentrate on her love for music, creating some romantic interest for Shivam. But there is a catch to Shivam’s plans as he gets embroiled in the rivalry between Zorawar’s gang and another led by Nafisa Nawaz (veteran Shabana Azmi in an unusual role).
With thuggery, money laundering and murder being the order of the day, the script obviously calls for lots of action scenes among the skullduggery and shifting loyalties.
Hashmi gives a strong performance as he struggles with the emotional trauma he went through in the first movie, which does not allow him to be at peace.
Zara’s role is not fully exploited by the director, but she fares well when the opportunity does arise for her scenes. If you like action and gangster movies, this one might thrill you.
