Egypt has what it takes to multiply its current tourist arrivals
Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy participated in the opening ceremony of the WTTC’s 26th Global Summit, held in the capital of Malta, Valletta, under the theme “FUTU[RE]SET”.
During a panel discussion on the role of public-private partnerships in driving growth, moderated by veteran journalist Richard Quest alongside tourism ministers from Malta, Croatia, South Africa, and Turkey, Fathy emphasized that Egypt has what it takes to multiply its current tourist arrivals.
Highlighting the country’s unique tourism diversity, robust infrastructure, and rich cultural heritage, the minister stressed that modern marketing strategies, artificial intelligence applications, and strong industry partnerships remain core priorities.
Fathy said the Egyptian state places the tourism and antiquities sectors at the forefront of its national agenda due to their crucial role in supporting the economy, creating jobs, and attracting investments.
On sustainability, Fathy noted that environmental preservation and eco-friendly practices are fundamental pillars of the ministry’s long-term strategy.
Concluding his remarks, the Minister stressed that effective collaboration between the government and the private sector serves as the primary engine for maximizing Egypt’s tourism potential and elevating service quality.
The event attracted tourism ministers, European Parliament members, and executives from global tourism enterprises.
