Missed the $519.99 Zelda Switch 2? One Retailer Has More on November 5

Missing out on a pre-order for the Zelda Edition Nintendo Switch 2 doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve missed your chance to own one. Nintendo has confirmed that more stock is planned, and some retailers have already received additional units ahead of the console’s October 29 launch.

The catch is that nobody has confirmed exactly how many consoles will be available in the next restock or when every retailer will receive its next shipment. That leaves buyers with a few options: check Nintendo’s official store, keep an eye on major retailers, or try their luck in person.

Nintendo has acknowledged that it underestimated demand for the special edition console. In an interview with Brazilian YouTube channel Coelho no Japão, Nintendo’s Latin America vice president and general manager, Bill van Zyll, said the company was working on replenishments but couldn’t yet share specific dates or quantities.

So, if you’re still trying to get one, here’s where things stand and what you can do next.

How to Get Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Pre-Order BonusesHere’s how to choose the right retailer, claim exclusive collectibles, and check availability before the Nintendo Switch 2 release.

Where to buy the Zelda Edition Nintendo Switch 2 after it sells out

The console officially launches on October 29, 2026, and several retailers have listed it for $519.99 in the United States. Availability varies by store, and a product listing doesn’t guarantee that a console is currently available to order.

These are the first places worth checking.

1. Nintendo Store

Start with Nintendo’s official listing for the Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2.

Nintendo previously displayed a “check back soon” message after its initial stock sold out. The company has since confirmed that additional inventory will be made available through its store and retailers for launch.

That makes the official store one of the most important pages to monitor. Check the listing regularly and look for a change in availability rather than assuming that an out-of-stock message means the console is gone for good.

2. Best Buy

Best Buy is another retailer to watch. Its Zelda Edition Switch 2 product page lists the console at $519.99.

The retailer has also confirmed that participating US stores will have limited quantities of the special edition console available during late-night openings for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on November 5. Those openings are tied to the game's launch, not the console's October 29 release, so they offer another opportunity for anyone who misses out today.

Check your local store's availability before travelling, as stock will be limited and not every location is guaranteed to have a console.

3. Walmart

You can also check Walmart’s listing. The retailer has listed the console at around $519, but availability can change quickly.

If the page says it is out of stock, check again later and look carefully at the seller before placing an order. A listing from Walmart itself is not the same as one from a third-party marketplace seller, particularly when demand is high.

4. Target

Target has its own product page for the Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2, with a listed price of $519.99.

The listing has shown the console as out of stock, but it is still worth checking for changes in availability. Target has also been among the retailers reporting additional stock ahead of launch, so it should remain on your shortlist.

5. Amazon and other retailers

Amazon is another place to check, particularly if you are shopping in the UK or another market where the console is officially listed. You can start with Amazon US or Amazon UK, then search for the exact 40th Anniversary Edition.

UK buyers should also check Currys, Argos, and Smyths Toys. Stock levels and prices differ by retailer, so confirm the final price, seller, and delivery terms before paying.

For buyers outside the US and UK, including Nigeria, availability will depend on local retailers and importers. Nintendo’s US price does not guarantee the same price or launch-day availability in your country.

Has Nintendo confirmed another Zelda Switch 2 restock?

Yes, Nintendo has confirmed that additional stock is planned. What it has not announced is a firm timetable for every retailer or a final count of the consoles coming back into circulation.

Van Zyll acknowledged that demand had exceeded the company's expectations and said Nintendo was working on replenishing the special hardware and software. He did not give a specific date or quantity.

That distinction matters. A restock is coming, but that does not mean every store will receive more consoles on the same day or that buyers will have a long window to place an order.

There has also been movement ahead of launch. Retailers have offered additional stock in the days leading up to October 29, and Nintendo’s US store has had another opportunity to sell units. However, individual stock drops can sell out quickly, so there is no guarantee that a listing will remain available when you visit it.

For now, the best approach is to monitor several retailers rather than rely on one store or wait for a single, unannounced restock date.

Can you still buy the Zelda Switch 2 in a physical store?

Possibly, but it depends on the retailer and your location.

Best Buy has confirmed that limited quantities of the Zelda Edition Switch 2 will be available at participating US stores during its late-night openings for Ocarina of Time on November 5. The retailer is also offering copies of the game and the Zelda-themed Pro Controller.

Nintendo has separately announced launch-day availability at its New York store on October 29. However, buyers there need a Warp Pipe Pass reservation for one of the designated shopping sessions, and console purchases are limited to one per customer. Check the official Nintendo New York announcement for the details.

These are specific arrangements, not a promise that every retailer will have walk-in stock. Before heading out, check the store's website or contact the location directly. A console showing as available online may already have been allocated to pre-orders or may not be available for walk-in purchases.

How much does the Zelda Edition Switch 2 cost?

The Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Nintendo Switch 2 has a US retail price of $519.99, which is $20 more than the standard Switch 2's $499.99 price.
