There are no compelling reasons for Balopi to resign as leader of the BDP

All indications are that the leader of the Botswana Democratic Party Mpho Balopi will have his day in court.

There has been a lot of talk that he would be charged following what has been a lengthy investigation by the corruption busting agency the DCEC (Directorate on Corruption and economic Crime.)

Balopi and those sympathetic to him should welcome an opportunity for him to clear his name in court.

Already there are calls on him to vacate his leadership role in the BDP.

I think it would be silly for him to resign.
