Bob Saget’s Eldest Daughter Turned Her Back on Hollywood — Inside Aubrey Saget’s Private Life

Aubrey Michelle Saget grew up with a famous surname and a front-row seat to her father Bob Saget’s extraordinary career, but she ultimately chose a very different path.

While her father became one of America’s best-known television personalities through Full House and America’s Funniest Home Videos, Aubrey developed her own identity as a painter, curator and arts organiser.

Born in New York City on 15 February 1987, she is Bob Saget’s eldest daughter with his first wife, screenwriter Sherri Kramer. Now 39, Aubrey has built much of her adult life around contemporary art rather than the entertainment industry.

A Childhood Away From the Hollywood Spotlight

Aubrey and her younger sisters, Lara Melanie and Jennifer Belle, grew up during a period when their father was becoming a major television star.

Bob and Sherri Kramer married in 1982 after meeting as high school sweethearts. They later divorced in 1997, but Bob remained closely connected to his daughters throughout their lives.

Although Aubrey occasionally appeared alongside her father at public events, she largely stayed away from the intense celebrity spotlight surrounding him.

Bob frequently spoke proudly about his daughters and described all three as intelligent, creative and artistic.

Aubrey’s family background also included a strong Jewish heritage on her father’s side. Her grandparents were Benjamin Saget, who worked as a supermarket executive, and Rosalyn “Dolly” Saget, who was a hospital administrator.

New York Became the Centre of Her Artistic Life

Rather than pursuing a career in television or comedy, Aubrey turned toward visual art.

She attended New York University, where she completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2009 before returning to the university for a Master of Fine Arts degree in 2016.

Her education helped establish the foundation for a career centred largely on oil painting.

Aubrey’s work explores ideas of framing, rhythm and pacing, with her creative process involving the addition and removal of material within individual paintings.

Her work has subsequently appeared in exhibitions at several New York galleries and in major art fairs.

Her Paintings Have Reached Major Art Fairs

Aubrey’s professional career has extended beyond smaller gallery exhibitions.

Her artist CV records appearances at NADA Miami in 2020 with Charles Moffett Gallery and NADA New York in 2024 with Halsey McKay Gallery.

One of the works she presented in 2024 was Fall Walk, an oil painting on panel measuring 12 by 18 inches.

She has also exhibited at venues including 80WSE Gallery and Off White Columns, establishing a reputation within the contemporary art scene independent of her father’s celebrity.

In 2015, she received the NYU Steinhardt Masters in Fine Art Scholarship Award Grant, further supporting her development as an artist.

Aubrey and Lara Turned Their Shared Passion Into Studio 200

Aubrey’s artistic work has also involved collaboration with her younger sister Lara.

The sisters co-founded Studio 200 in 2013, an art collective associated with Brooklyn that has organised exhibitions, workshops, performances and residency programmes.

The project reflects the sisters’ shared interest in creating spaces where artists can interact and experiment outside traditional gallery settings.

Lara has developed her own career in the arts, working as an artist and curator while incorporating materials such as rocks, glass and paint into her work.

Their collaboration has allowed the sisters to maintain a creative connection while pursuing distinct artistic practices.

Marriage Gave Aubrey Another Private Chapter

Aubrey has kept much of her personal life away from public attention, but her marriage to Andy Kabel has occasionally brought her into the spotlight.

The couple became engaged in December 2020 and married on 13 November 2022 in Tulum, Mexico.

Their wedding took place only 10 months after Bob Saget’s death, making the occasion an important moment for Aubrey and her family during a difficult period.

Her sister Lara shared images from the ceremony, while Kelly Rizzo, Bob’s widow, also attended and publicly celebrated Aubrey’s marriage.

There have been no publicly confirmed reports that Aubrey and Kabel have children.

Aubrey Maintained a Close Bond With Kelly Rizzo

Bob Saget’s death did not end the relationship between his daughters and Kelly Rizzo.

Rizzo, who married Bob in 2018, has spoken warmly about her relationship with Aubrey, Lara and Jennifer.

In 2022, when asked by a follower whether she remained close to Bob’s daughters after his death, Rizzo indicated that their relationship went beyond simply getting along.

The family’s continued connection has been visible at occasional public appearances and family milestones.

Bob Saget’s Death Changed the Family Forever

Bob Saget died on 9 January 2022 at the age of 65 while staying at a hotel in Florida during his stand-up tour.

His death came unexpectedly and deeply affected his three daughters.

Following his passing, Aubrey shared the final text message she had received from her father before his last performance.

The message, which she later posted on Instagram, reflected the affectionate relationship they shared and became one of the more personal glimpses into their family life after his death.

The family subsequently described themselves as devastated by the loss and remembered Bob for his love of his daughters, comedy and performing.

Aubrey Rarely Steps Into the Public Eye

Despite being the daughter of a hugely recognisable entertainer, Aubrey has generally maintained a low public profile.

Her appearances are typically connected to her art, family or major events rather than celebrity culture.

That changed somewhat in September 2026 when she appeared publicly with Kelly Rizzo at a screening of Who Is Martin Mull? in Los Angeles.

The appearance was particularly notable because of Bob’s connection to the project.

Bob Saget’s Final Documentary Receives a Posthumous Release

Who Is Martin Mull? is a documentary about the late comedian, musician and painter Martin Mull.

Bob Saget co-directed and executive-produced the project with filmmaker Neil Berkeley before his death. Berkeley subsequently helped complete the documentary.

The film features interviews and archival material involving figures who knew Mull, including Steve Martin, Tom Waits and David Alan Grier.

Its planned Netflix release on 7 October 2026 makes it another posthumous chapter in Bob Saget’s creative legacy.

Aubrey’s appearance at the screening alongside Rizzo provided a rare public reminder of the family connection surrounding the project.

Her Sisters Have Taken Different Paths

Aubrey is the eldest of Bob Saget and Sherri Kramer’s three daughters.

Lara Melanie Saget, born in October 1989, has followed her sister into the arts. She studied at Barnard College before completing an MFA at New York University and has worked as an artist and curator.

Jennifer Belle Saget, the youngest of the three sisters, has maintained a considerably more private existence.

Unlike her sisters, Jennifer has largely stayed outside the entertainment and public arts worlds, with little information about her personal life publicly available.

Aubrey’s Career Stands Apart From Her Father’s Fame

Aubrey’s story is ultimately less about being Bob Saget’s daughter and more about establishing a professional identity of her own.

Her work in oil painting, exhibitions, curation and Studio 200 has given her a place within the contemporary art world that is separate from the entertainment industry that made her father famous.

Although her family name inevitably attracts attention, her career has been built around galleries, exhibitions and creative collaborations rather than television or Hollywood.

Her Financial Profile Remains Largely Private

Estimates have placed Aubrey Saget’s net worth at around $300,000, although there is no publicly verified figure confirming her exact wealth.

Her professional income is associated primarily with her artistic practice and related creative work, including painting exhibitions, gallery representation, art fairs and curatorial projects.

As with many private artists, details about individual sales, commissions and other sources of income are not publicly disclosed.

A Life Built on Her Own Terms

Aubrey Saget inherited a famous family name, but she has largely resisted allowing that legacy to define her public identity.

From her education at NYU and development as an oil painter to her collaboration with Lara through Studio 200, she has established a career rooted in the visual arts.

Her occasional appearances with her family, particularly following Bob Saget’s death, have offered glimpses into a private world she has otherwise carefully protected.

For Aubrey, the most enduring connection to her father may therefore be creativity itself — while the career she has built remains distinctly her own.
