Greater Accra's Juresh Nassara Alhassan and Brong Ahafo Region's Evans Ibrahim were named the standout players from their respective Matchday 5 fixtures at the MTN Elite U-19 Championship.
The pair received Most Valuable Player awards after producing influential individual performances, although their teams experienced very different outcomes.
Juresh was recognised for his display in Greater Accra's narrow 2-1 defeat by Northern Region. Despite being unable to help his side secure a result, the youngster impressed sufficiently to be judged the best player in the match.
Greater Accra were left to take positives from the individual contribution of Juresh, whose performance earned him the accolade even as Northern Region claimed victory.
In the final fixture of the day, Evans Ibrahim delivered a decisive attacking display for Brong Ahafo Region as they recorded a convincing 3-0 win against Upper East Region.
Ibrahim was central to the result, scoring twice as Brong Ahafo established clear control of the contest. His goals and overall contribution made him the outstanding player on the field and secured him the Matchday 5 MVP award.
The performances of Juresh and Ibrahim highlighted the different ways in which players can make an impact in the competition. Juresh stood out while Greater Accra narrowly lost, whereas Ibrahim combined individual excellence with a commanding team victory for Brong Ahafo.
