With South Africa’s 2026 matric exams fast approaching, Grade 12 learners are entering the crucial final stretch of their preparation.

The **National Senior Certificate (NSC) **examinations are scheduled to begin next month, with the official Department of Basic Education (DBE) timetable showing the first examinations taking place from Tuesday, 13 October and run until Thursday, 26 November.

For learners who are still working through their revision, there is one resource that should not be overlooked: past examination papers.

The DBE itself recommends using previous examination papers to prepare for the upcoming NSC exams, saying they can help learners identify what they already know and where they need more revision.

1. Get used to the exam format
