Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi Accuses Netanyahu of Pushing U.S. Toward War With Iran
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Monday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu openly boasts, when speaking in Hebrew, about allegedly drawing the United States into a war against Iran on Israel’s behalf.
“Netanyahu, when speaking in Hebrew, clearly boasts about dragging the U.S. administration into a war against Iran while acting in Israel’s name,” Araghchi said.
“He openly laughs about how he has influenced the United States, having appeared for more than 1,000 hours on American television programs.”
Araghchi added that Netanyahu adopts a very different tone when speaking in English, praising the leadership of the U.S. president.
“But when he speaks in English, he praises the leadership capabilities of the President of the United States,” Araghchi said, before adding: “He is a snake.”
The remarks come amid heightened tensions between Tehran, Washington and Tel Aviv, with Iranian officials repeatedly accusing Netanyahu and Israel of seeking to push the United States into a wider and potentially prolonged conflict with Iran.
