Ethiopian Airlines to Start New Passenger Service to Nacala, Mozambique

Ethiopian Airlines, the largest network operating carrier in Africa, announced plans to expand its presence in Mozambique with a thrice weekly passenger service to Nacala.

Nacala will join the vast Ethiopian network starting from 27 October 2026 as the airline’s third destination in Mozambique after Maputo and Beira.

Ethiopian will deploy the Boeing B737-8 aircraft for the service, operating the flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

“As a pan-African airline, expanding our presence in Mozambique with a third destination is truly a proud moment for us,” Mesfin Tasew, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, said.

“The commencement of this flight will further strengthen the relationship between the people of Mozambique and Ethiopia.”

Ethiopian Airlines’ new service to Nacala – a vital center for trade and tourism – is expected to further strengthen the city’s economic, commercial, and diplomatic connectivity.

“With this flight, we will bring our renowned, award-winning service to Nacala, connecting the city with our global network,” said the Group CEO, adding Ethiopian “will continue to bridge connectivity gaps across Africa and bring every corner of our continent closer to the world.”

Ethiopian Airlines operates the largest network in Africa, serving more than 65 destinations across the continent, utilizing young and modern fleet.
