Sudden Turnabout: Kaizer Chiefs finally break silence on axing Fernando Da Cruz before Soweto Derby

Kaizer Chiefs’ management is reportedly set for a crucial meeting on Monday to discuss the future of head coach Fernando Da Cruz as pressure continues to build around the club.

According to SoccerBeat, the Amakhosi hierarchy will gather to assess Da Cruz’s position and determine the best course of action following a difficult period for the Soweto giants.

The meeting comes at a particularly sensitive time, with the highly anticipated Soweto Derby looming. Chiefs could decide to allow Da Cruz to remain in charge until the derby before making a final call on his future.

However, his presence on the touchline for the much-anticipated clash is reportedly not guaranteed, leaving uncertainty over who could lead the team should the club opt for an immediate change.

The potential decision comes with Chiefs facing increasing scrutiny over their performances and results. With the derby carrying enormous significance for both the club and its supporters, management will be under pressure to make a decision that could shape the direction of the season.

For now, Da Cruz’s future remains uncertain, with Monday’s meeting expected to provide greater clarity.

The coming days could therefore prove decisive for the French tactician, as Chiefs weigh whether to continue with their current technical setup or make a major change ahead of one of the biggest fixtures on the South African football calendar.

All eyes will now be on the Chiefs management meeting on Monday.
