One person died, and three others were injured after a head-on collision at Masuwe Bridge along the Bulawayo–Victoria Falls Road on Sunday afternoon.
Police in Matabeleland North confirmed the accident, which occurred at around 3 pm at the 432km peg.
They said the crash involved an Isuzu double cab travelling south towards Bulawayo with two passengers on board and a Toyota Allion travelling north towards Victoria Falls with no passengers.
According to police, the Isuzu encroached into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with the Toyota Allion.
The driver of the Toyota died on admission to Victoria Falls Hospital, while the occupants of the Isuzu were also taken to hospital for treatment.
Police have urged motorists to obey road rules and avoid errors that can lead to loss of life.
“We urge motorists to drive, observe all road rules and always try to avoid human errors as this is taking the lives of innocent citizens,” police said.
