VIDEO: Natasha introduces self at Edo assembly without 2Baba’s surname

Natasha Osawaru, member of the Edo State House of Assembly, on Tuesday introduced herself using her surname rather than that of Innocent Idibia, her celebrity husband popularly known as 2Baba.

In a video shared on her Instagram page, the lawmaker identified herself as “Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osawaru” while addressing colleagues during plenary.

The nameplate in front of her also displayed the Osawaru surname, omitting Idibia.

During the session, Osawaru, who represents Egor constituency and serves as the assembly’s minority leader, spoke in support of a bill aimed at strengthening emergency response in Edo.

“Mr Speaker, my name is Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osawaru, member representing the very great people of Egor Constituency and, by God’s grace, the minority leader of this House,” she said.

“Mr Speaker, as we speak, we have no strong, legally backed state agency that can respond proactively. Hence, this bill is timely.”

In April 2025, Natasha had included Idibia in her maiden name during a plenary session when she introduced herself.

“My name is Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osaworu, née Idibia,” she said in a video seen by TheCable before getting into her speech during the state assembly plenary.

The latest development comes amid renewed public interest in her relationship with 2Baba, following her absence from the singer’s 51st birthday celebration and album listening party in Lagos.

The event, held in Victoria Island, was attended by members of the singer’s family and several entertainment personalities.

Their relationship has also drawn attention following a viral video in August that appeared to show them in a heated exchange at an Abuja nightclub.

Natasha tied the knot with 2Baba in July 2025, following the singer’s split from his wife Annie Macaulay Idibia.

The couple held a dedication ceremony for their first child together in February.

Recall that 2Baba and Annie followed each other on Instagram in August.

However, the singer and Natasha ceased following each other.
