The South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority has sent 10 air traffic control officers to Nairobi, Kenya, for a nine-week specialized Area Control Surveillance training program.
The training, organized in collaboration with the World Food Programme, will take place at the East African School of Aviation.
According to the authority, the program will equip the officers with practical skills in surveillance-based air traffic control, including monitoring aircraft movements, maintaining safe separation and improving communication with pilots.
The officers are expected to apply the skills after completing the course to strengthen air traffic management and improve aviation safety in South Sudan.
The Civil Aviation Authority, led by Director General Eng. Kat Mosety Monyjok, says the training is part of efforts to improve the skills of technical staff and support the development of the country’s aviation sector.
