Premier League football returns to the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi on Saturday when newly promoted Ashantigold FC host Vision FC in their first home fixture of the 2026/27 season.Ashantigold are making their return to Ghana’s top flight as debutants under a new management structure, with the club legally separate from the former Ashanti Gold S.C., which was banned in 2022 following a match manipulation case.The Obuasi side started their campaign with a 1-1 draw against fellow newcomers Port City FC. After taking the lead in the first half, they were unable to hold on for victory but will take confidence from a positive opening-day performance.Their biggest source of encouragement is their impressive home record from last season’s Division One League campaign.
