The 10 Artists Who Have Dominated Spotify Nigeria’s Daily Chart Since 2022
The Debut Hub tracked 11.27 billion streams on Spotify Nigeria’s Daily Top Songs chart. Here are the 10 artists who have been dominating.
I've always been fascinated by the numbers behind music.
Maybe it comes from making music myself while also having one eye on the bigger ambition of breaking into big banks. I’ve always wanted to know more than whether a song sounds good. Who is listening? Where are they listening? Why does one song stick around while another disappears?
That’s why The Debut Hub’s latest look at Spotify Nigeria caught my attention.
Between February 20, 2022, and September 13, 2026, it tracked 11.27 billion streams across 4,994 songs by 939 primary artists on Spotify Nigeria’s Daily Top Songs chart.
And one artist sits well above everyone else.
Asake Tops Nigeria’s H1 2026 Streaming Race: What ChangedAsake led Nigeria’s H1 2026 streaming charts with 681 million streams, up 42.8% from 2025, driven by M$NEY, collaborations and his growing catalogue.
Asake is in a league of his own
Asake has more than 1.55 billion streams in the dataset, making him the only artist to cross the billion mark. That’s about 13.8% of all the streams The Debut Hub tracked.
In simpler terms, roughly one in every seven streams in the dataset comes from an Asake song.
Seyi Vibez follows with more than 800 million, while Wizkid has around 770 million and FOLA accounts for roughly 6% of the total, as seen in the chart below.
But there’s an important detail here.
These aren't an artist’s total Spotify streams. The Debut Hub is counting streams from songs while they appeared on Spotify Nigeria’s Daily Top Songs chart. So this data is really telling us who has been able to stay in Nigeria’s streaming conversation.
And that makes the rest of the list much more interesting.
Old stars. New stars. Same audience.
Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy helped take Afrobeats to the global mainstream. Then came artists like Asake, Seyi Vibez, FOLA and ODUMODUBLVCK, each bringing a different sound and audience with them.
What’s interesting is that the newer generation hasn’t simply pushed the older one out. They’re all finding substantial audiences at the same time.
