Western North NPP targets more parliamentary seats in 2028

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Western North Region says it is determined to increase its number of parliamentary seats in the 2028 general elections.

The party currently holds only one of the region’s nine parliamentary seats, with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) controlling the remaining eight.

The NPP’s lone parliamentary seat in the Western North Region is the Suaman Constituency, leaving the party with a significant challenge as it seeks to make gains in the region ahead of the 2028 elections.

The party’s Regional Secretary, Felix Foster Ackah, however, says the new crop of regional executives, led by Regional Chairman Pious Vincent Abekah, is confident of turning the party’s fortunes around.

He was speaking during a thanksgiving service organised by the party at the Sefwi Asawinso Methodist Church.

According to him, the new regional leadership has made strengthening the party at the grassroots and uniting its members a priority as it prepares for the next elections.

He called on party supporters and executives across the region to put aside their differences, strengthen their collaboration and work towards a common electoral goal.

Felix Foster Ackah believes a united and revitalised party structure will help the NPP regain the confidence of voters and increase its representation across the various constituencies in the Western North Region.
