Vivo Energy Ghana PLC leads pack with quadruple win at National PR and Communications Excellence Awards

Vivo Energy Ghana PLC emerged as the biggest winner at this year’s National PR and Communications Excellence Awards by the Institute of Public Relations, Ghana, winning four major awards in recognition of its excellence in strategic communications, public relations and campaign execution.

The company’s quadruple win comprised Best Promotional Event and Best PR Campaign of the Year for its She’llFix initiative, alongside PR Organisation of the Year – Commercial and PR Organisation of the Year – Energy and Utilities. The awards reaffirm Vivo Energy Ghana’s commitment to strategic and purpose-driven communication and actions that reinforce corporate reputation, confirm valued stakeholder relationships and deliver meaningful value beyond its core business operations.

A major highlight of the achievement was the double recognition of She’llFix, an innovative initiative designed to equip female drivers with essential vehicle maintenance knowledge and practical car care skills. The campaign exemplifies Vivo Energy Ghana’s approach to public relations as a tool for education, empowerment and positive social impact, demonstrating how well-conceived communication initiatives can address everyday challenges while creating tangible benefits for stakeholders.

Through She’llFix, Vivo Energy Ghana empowers women with the knowledge and confidence to better understand their vehicles, identify basic maintenance needs and manage routine car care.

Beyond its immediate impact, She’llFix reflects the company’s core values of Safety, Excellence, Caring, Respect and Integrity. It demonstrates a commitment to understanding customer needs, promoting inclusion and translating these values into practical initiatives that make a difference in people’s lives.

Commenting on the awards, the Corporate Communications Manager of Vivo Energy Ghana, Shirley Tony Kum said the recognition of Vivo Energy Ghana as PR Organisation of the Year in both the Commercial and Energy and Utilities categories further reinforces the company’s position as a leading player in Ghana’s downstream petroleum industry.

“These honours highlight the strategic contribution of communications to business performance, reputation management and stakeholder engagement in an increasingly dynamic and competitive operating environment”, she added.

The achievement also aligns with the company’s vision to be Africa’s leading and most respected energy business, underpinned by a commitment to excellence, responsible business practices and lasting value creation for customers, partners, employees and the communities it serves.

As the company continues to invest in its retail network, customer experience, people and community initiatives, the recognition reinforces its commitment to setting high standards in the energy sector and delivering on its promise to be a trusted partner in Ghana’s development.
