Raza to lead Zimbabwe in upcoming UAE tri-series and Afghanistan tour

ZIMBABWE Cricket has named its limited overs squads for a demanding multi format tour of the United Arab Emirates, where the Chevrons will face Afghanistan and Bangladesh in an ODI tri-series before taking on Afghanistan in T20 Internationals and Test matches.

The tour runs from October 17 to November 17, with Zimbabwe set to play three T20 Internationals and two Test matches against Afghanistan following the ODI tri-series.

Sikandar Raza will captain Zimbabwe in both the ODI and T20I formats in the absence of Richard Ngarava (ODI captain) who is still recovering from a back injury.

The ODI squad largely retained the core of the team that faced Australia in Harare last month, with Tafadzwa Tsiga and Vincent Masekesa being the notable additions.

The pair come in for Innocent Kaia and Graeme Cremer who have since been dropped for a poor outing against Australia.

Zimbabwe will be hoping to make a strong impression during the month long assignment following a 3-0 ODI whitewash on home soil against Australia last month.
