Preparations for the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT) entered the final month, with 30 days to the start of the continental women’s team golf championship in Abuja.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from November 2 to 7 at the IBB International Golf & Country Club, Abuja, with women golfers from across Africa expected to compete for the continental title.
The 31-day countdown was announced by the AACT 2026 Media Committee, chaired by Kayode Adeniyi, under the theme, “Africa Is Coming to Abuja.”
According to the organisers, the countdown will focus on the participating countries and players, the history and development of women’s golf in Africa, and preparations for the championship.
The programme is also expected to feature interviews, player and country profiles, tournament facts and reports from the host venue as the competition approaches.
Attention will increasingly shift to Abuja as the host city, with the championship providing an opportunity for African golfers to compete against one another while also bringing together officials and other stakeholders involved in the development of women’s golf on the continent.
The Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN), the Local Organising Committee and other stakeholders are involved in preparations for the event.
The AACT is one of the major team competitions on the African women’s golf calendar, with participating nations expected to use the championship to assess their players and strengthen the development of the sport.
With 31 days remaining, preparations at the IBB International Golf & Country Club are continuing ahead of the November 2 opening.
