A registered sex offender with a history of arrests over alleged incidents involving women’s buttocks has been arrested again in Glendale, California.
Calese Crowder, 39, was taken into custody last week by the Glendale Police Department after officers responded to reports of suspicious behaviour at businesses along Glenoaks Boulevard.
According to police, officers were called to a business in the 1500 block of Glenoaks Boulevard near Jefferson Elementary School on Friday, August 28, following reports that Crowder had been seen crouching close to other people.
Surveillance footage obtained by Eyewitness News reportedly showed a man identified as Crowder crouching near an employee who was stocking shelves at Big Sav Discount Store.
Store manager Jimmy Koh said it was not the first time Crowder had allegedly behaved that way at the store.
“He’ll just look around and try to take the chance to sniff like any woman’s butt,” Koh said, describing what he claimed was the man’s behaviour.
Koh said the latest incident was reportedly the third time Crowder had engaged in similar conduct at the store.
Police were also dispatched to a Marshalls store near South Brand Boulevard and East Broadway following a similar report. Investigators reviewed surveillance footage from both businesses and were able to identify Crowder.
He was eventually located in the 100 block of South Brand Boulevard and arrested for allegedly violating the terms of his parole. He was being held without bail at the time of the report, with the court expected to determine the next steps in the case.
Crowder has previously been arrested over similar allegations. In August 2025, he was reportedly re-arrested following another alleged sniffing incident at a Walgreens store in Burbank.
His history has also included previous incidents in the San Fernando Valley, where videos and reports have drawn attention to allegations that he approached women and attempted to sniff their buttocks.
The latest arrest has once again raised concerns among businesses and customers about his repeated alleged behaviour.
