Ugandan TikToker Jayden dies in India after prolonged illness

Ugandan TikTok personality Timothy Kayanja, popularly known as Jayden, has died after a prolonged battle with a serious blood condition.

Jayden reportedly passed away in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in India, where he had travelled to seek specialised medical treatment, including a bone marrow transplant.

His death has triggered an outpouring of grief among his family, friends, fellow content creators and thousands of followers who had closely followed his health journey.

News of his death emerged on Tuesday morning, with fellow Ugandan TikToker Sheila Price among those announcing the heartbreaking development.

“The sad news we just got at this moment is that Jayden has passed on. It’s such bad news,” Sheila said.

Jayden’s health battle had in recent months drawn significant public attention, prompting Ugandans, fellow TikTokers, friends and well-wishers to rally financial support towards his treatment.

The fundraising drive became a reflection of the strong bond he had built with his online community, as supporters mobilised resources to help him access medical care.

However, despite the efforts to support his recovery and the decision to seek further treatment in India, Jayden reportedly succumbed to his illness.

His death has left many of his followers struggling to come to terms with the loss of a young personality who had become a familiar face on Uganda’s rapidly growing TikTok scene.

Tributes have since begun pouring in across social media, with fans remembering Jayden for his personality, his interactions with fellow creators and the connection he maintained with his online audience.

For many who followed his journey, his passing is particularly painful because they had watched and supported him through his health struggles, hoping that specialised treatment would give him another chance at recovery.

His death also highlights the difficult journey faced by families dealing with serious illnesses, particularly when specialised treatment requires travel abroad and significant financial resources.

As messages of condolence continue to spread online, friends and fans have called for prayers and support for Jayden’s family during what they described as an exceptionally difficult period.

Further details regarding his treatment, the circumstances surrounding his death and funeral arrangements are expected to be communicated by his family and close associates.

May God comfort Jayden’s family, friends and everyone who stood by him throughout his illness. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Rest in peace, Jayden. You will be deeply missed.
