The Chairman of the Tin Can Island Chapter of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents, ANLCA, Prince Olawale Matthew Cole, has received a Special Recognition Award at the 7th Oduduwa Special Recognition Awards, OSRA in Ile-Ife, Osun State, in recognition of his contributions to the maritime industry.
Cole received the honour at the OSRA Awards/Gala Night 2026, held on Saturday, October 17, at OJAJA Arena Resort, Ile-Ife, where distinguished personalities from different sectors were recognised for their contributions to society.
The award was presented by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the revered traditional ruler of Ile-Ife.
The recognition highlights Cole’s leadership role in the freight forwarding and customs brokerage sector, where licensed customs agents play an important part in facilitating international trade, supporting cargo clearance and engaging government agencies on issues affecting port operations.
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, is the paramount traditional ruler of Ile-Ife, a historic Yoruba town in Osun State. The OSRA ceremony brought together personalities from different sectors to celebrate individuals recognised for their contributions to society.
The award also draws attention to the contributions of professionals in Nigeria’s maritime industry, particularly freight forwarders and customs brokers whose activities support the movement of cargo through the nation’s ports.
Speaking on the recognition, Cole expressed appreciation to the organisers of the awards and the Ooni of Ife for the honour.
He said the award would encourage him to remain committed to the growth of the maritime industry and the advancement of freight forwarding and customs brokerage in Nigeria.
Cole also acknowledged the support and cooperation of members of ANLCA, particularly those of the Tin Can Island Chapter, noting that collective efforts remained important to the association’s progress and the effective representation of licensed customs agents.
The ANLCA Chairman’s latest recognition comes shortly after he also received an award from Primetime Reporters for his contributions to the maritime industry.
The two recognitions further highlight Cole’s profile within the maritime community and the role of industry professionals in promoting trade facilitation, stakeholder engagement and improved port operations.
