Chairing a high-level meeting on winter gas management, the prime minister called for timely measures to address seasonal demand and directed authorities to launch an effective public awareness campaign in support of the plan.
Officials informed the meeting that domestic consumers would be given priority in the allocation of locally produced gas, while imported Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) would primarily be supplied to the power and industrial sectors.
The government also plans to encourage households to adopt alternative energy sources to reduce pressure on domestic gas reserves during the winter months.
Efforts are being made to maintain continuous supplies from gas fields in the northern parts of the country.
The meeting also discussed a proposal to facilitate bank financing for households seeking to purchase electricity-powered appliances for water and space heating.
The measures are aimed at managing increased winter demand while ensuring available gas resources are allocated efficiently across domestic, power and industrial consumers.
