Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, expressing confidence that the President would secure a second term in the January 16, 2027, presidential election.
Adeleke said four years was insufficient for Tinubu’s reforms to deliver the desired results, urging Nigerians to give the President more time to consolidate his policies.
The governor spoke on Wednesday at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council at the State House Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Declaring his support for Tinubu, Adeleke who is of the Accord Party, said he was prepared to contribute to the President’s re-election campaign.
“We must give our father, the President of this nation, time for his reform to work. It’s not easy. Four years is not enough,” he said.
“That is why I’m here to throw my weight.”
The governor, popularly known as the dancing governor, expressed confidence in the campaign, insisting that supporters would work to secure Tinubu’s return to office.
“Nobody can stop this movement,” Adeleke declared.
“We’re going to sing, we’re going to dance all the way back to Aso Rock,” he added.
Adeleke urged supporters to intensify mobilisation ahead of the election, saying there was little time to waste in pursuing the campaign’s objectives.
“We don’t have time. The work has begun. I’ve already started mine,” he said.
He also called on Nigerians to continue praying for Tinubu, arguing that the success of the President’s administration would benefit the country.
“Continue praying for Mr President. If he succeeds, we all succeed. And I know by the special grace of God, we shall get there,” Adeleke said.
