2027: Ogun PDP Reps candidate promises projects

The House of Representatives candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for Ijebu Central Federal Constituency, Wale Ogunbanjo, has promised to facilitate more development projects for the constituency if elected in the 2027 general election.

Ogunbanjo, who represented the constituency in the House between 2003 and 2007, made the promise during the flag-off of his campaign in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

The former lawmaker said his tenure was marked by projects and initiatives that continued to benefit residents of Ijebu-Ode, Odogbolu and Ijebu North-East Local Government Areas.

According to him, the projects included nine motorised boreholes across the three local government areas, the reconstruction of the Okun-Owa Town Hall in Odogbolu Local Government Area, a rural telephony project at Itamapako in Ijebu-Ode, bursaries and scholarships for students, as well as the renovation of the female ward of the General Hospital, Ijebu-Ode.

Ogunbanjo said the projects demonstrated his commitment to effective representation, adding that he was seeking another opportunity to serve the people and build on his previous achievements.

“I promise to deliver more dividends of democracy if given another opportunity in the 2027 general election,” he said.

The PDP candidate also noted that no indigene of Ijebu-Ode had represented the constituency in the House since he left the Green Chamber almost 20 years ago.

He urged residents of Ijebu-Ode, Odogbolu and Ijebu North-East to support his candidacy, assuring them that he would prioritise projects and initiatives capable of improving their welfare if elected.

Ogunbanjo further called on the constituents to vote for all PDP candidates in the forthcoming general election, saying the party would provide the needed leadership and representation.

The campaign flag-off was witnessed by the PDP governorship candidate in Ogun State, Oladipupo Adebutu; his deputy, Lateefat Showunmi-Kolapo; the party’s Ogun East senatorial candidate, Omotayo Omo-Owo; former Commissioner for Women Affairs, Folake Marcus-Bello; and other party leaders.

Ogunbanjo thanked the PDP for giving him another opportunity to seek the mandate of the people and urged constituents to support his bid to return to the National Assembly.
