MONROVIA, October 6, 2026 — Grand Bassa County Senator Gbehzohngar Milton Findley has spoken favorably about former Commerce and Industry Minister Magdalene E. Dagoseh amid emerging political discussions surrounding the county’s 2029 senatorial race, but says he has not decided whom he will support.
Findley made the remarks Monday, October 5, during an appearance on OK FM, where he discussed potential candidates and the criteria that would guide his eventual endorsement.
Findley, who was elected to the Senate as an independent candidate in 2023 with 55,629 votes, representing 52.24 percent of valid votes cast, stopped short of endorsing Dagoseh.
Asked why he is frequently seen with the former Commerce Minister at events in Grand Bassa, Findley said he would attend programs where she is present if invited.
“It’s somebody that I admire,” Findley said, adding that he and Dagoseh “come a long way” and have worked together on issues in the past.
He also described her as “a strong, strong advocate.”
Despite the praise, Findley said he has not reached a final decision on whom he will support, noting that he has held discussions with several individuals interested in contesting the Grand Bassa Senate seat.
He indicated that his position could become known before the end of 2026 and said the November convention of his political movement in Grand Bassa could provide an opportunity for broader discussions on the issue.
Findley said his eventual support would be based on several considerations, including a candidate’s commitment to education, vocational training, employment opportunities and investment in Grand Bassa.
“I will be looking for somebody who has the same kind of idea that would like to see the young people of Bassa being educated, the young people of Bassa being trained, prepared for the future, ready to get jobs,” he said.
He also emphasized the need to attract companies and investment to the county to expand economic opportunities for residents.
Dagoseh is being discussed as a potential challenger to incumbent Grand Bassa Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence in the 2029 senatorial election.
While Findley has not formally endorsed any candidate, his comments have added to the emerging political discussions surrounding the race as prospective candidates begin positioning themselves ahead of 2029.
