Ghana Police Officers Storm Live TV Set, Arrest 51-Year-Old Man Over Allegations Involving a Minor

A television broadcast of Lawson Afisem reportedly came to an unexpected halt when police officers entered the studio and arrested a 51-year-old man in connection with allegations concerning a minor.

According to reports, the man had been invited onto the programme to respond to claims made against him. However, the interview took a dramatic turn after remarks he allegedly made prompted concerns and led to police intervention.

Officers reportedly arrested the man in full view of the cameras, ending the discussion and drawing widespread public interest.

Authorities have not yet disclosed comprehensive details about the case or confirmed the specific charges, if any, being considered. Investigators are expected to gather further evidence before determining how to proceed.

Given the involvement of a minor, the case requires careful handling, particularly regarding the protection of the child’s identity and welfare under applicable law.

The incident has sparked public debate, largely because the arrest occurred during a live broadcast rather than through a private police operation.

Nevertheless, legal principles require that the suspect be presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. An arrest alone does not establish that the allegations are true.

The public is expected to receive further information from the Ghana Police Service when appropriate as investigations continue and the facts of the case are established.
